Floating Isle Games

This policy explains how Floating Isle Games handles information when you play Game of Skill (including its demo), visit floatingisle.games and related pages, submit feedback, subscribe to updates, or contact us. Different services collect different types of information, as described below.

Game analytics

Game of Skill uses Unity Gaming Services Analytics to understand how the game is played and to improve difficulty, controls, progression, and the overall experience. The gameplay events we configure include level and tutorial starts and completions, attempts and elapsed time, launch power and angle, use of gameplay mechanics, control scheme, boss challenge outcomes, and interactions with the demo's wishlist prompts.

Our custom gameplay events do not request your name, email address, or Steam account name. However, Unity Analytics processes pseudonymous installation and session identifiers, event timestamps, approximate country or region, platform and game version information, and other automatically collected technical information. Such information may be considered personal data under applicable law even when the gameplay events do not identify you by name.

Crash reports and diagnostics

We use Unity's diagnostics and crash-reporting services to investigate crashes, errors, and stability problems. Reports and diagnostic sessions may include installation and session identifiers, error messages, stack traces, application logs, game version, device hardware characteristics, operating-system information, screen resolution, approximate geographic region, timestamps, and other technical diagnostic information. Please avoid including personal information in any feedback or error descriptions you send us.

Feedback and bug reports

Our feedback form is provided through Google Forms. It asks you to select a feedback type (bug report, gameplay feedback, or suggestion) and provide the relevant details. Depending on your selection, fields may ask for a bug description, what you were doing when the bug occurred, gameplay feedback, or a suggestion.

You may optionally provide an email address if you would like a response. We use submissions to investigate issues and improve the game, and use an email address you provide to reply when appropriate. The form does not require Google sign-in, and we have not enabled automatic collection of respondents' email addresses. Google may process technical information in connection with use of its Forms service under its own privacy practices.

Newsletter and direct contact

Newsletter: If you sign up for updates, you provide your email address through beehiiv. Subscription confirmation is required. You can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter.

Email: If you contact us at contact@floatingisle.games, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include, and use it to handle your message.

Website hosting and technical logs

Our website is hosted by Namecheap. Hosting logs may include IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, HTTP response status, referring pages, and browser or device information. These logs support website operation, security, and troubleshooting. Retention depends on the hosting service and its configuration.

Website analytics

Game of Skill website pages use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, traffic sources, and interactions such as demo and wishlist clicks. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers and process browser, device, approximate-location, and event information. Google states that GA4 uses IP addresses at collection time for location estimation and does not log or store those IP addresses. Our Google Analytics 4 property currently has a two-month event-data retention setting and a 14-month user-data retention setting for data covered by those controls. These settings do not necessarily govern all aggregated reports or other data processed by Google. Google signals and user-provided data collection are disabled, and we have not enabled the optional Google Analytics account-level data-sharing settings or linked advertising products.

How information is used and shared

We use the information described in this policy to operate and secure our website and game, understand gameplay and website usage, diagnose problems, respond to feedback and messages, and send updates you request. Service providers including Unity, Google, Namecheap, and beehiiv process information as needed to provide their respective services. We do not sell newsletter email addresses or intentionally include names, email addresses, or Steam account identifiers in our custom gameplay analytics events.

Retention

We retain information as needed for the purposes described here, subject to applicable requirements and the retention settings and policies of our service providers. Retention periods vary by service and type of information. Newsletter information is maintained while you are subscribed and may be retained afterward when necessary; correspondence and feedback are kept as needed to respond and investigate issues. Analytics, diagnostic reports, website logs, and Google Forms responses are subject to their respective service configurations and retention practices.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can unsubscribe from newsletters at any time, choose not to provide an email address when submitting feedback, and manage browser cookies or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on for website analytics. For questions about game analytics, or to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with you, email contact@floatingisle.games. We will review requests and work with relevant service providers where applicable. For game analytics or diagnostics, an installation identifier may be needed to locate the relevant records; we do not collect your name or email address as part of our custom gameplay events. We may need information sufficient to locate records and verify a request, and we cannot always associate an email address alone with a particular installation. Deletion requests may involve separate processes for Analytics, Diagnostics, feedback submissions, and correspondence. Your rights and our obligations depend on applicable law.

Children's privacy

Game of Skill and our websites are intended for a general audience and are not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not intentionally ask children to provide names, ages, or other personal details through our custom gameplay events. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review the concern and take appropriate action.

Updates and contact
